What Are QC Photos and Why Do They Matter?
QC photos — quality control photos — are images taken of your item at the agent's warehouse before it's packaged for shipping. These are one of the most important steps in W2C buying and one of the main ways the cnfans community maintains purchasing confidence.
When you order through KakoBuy or other agents, the warehouse team will photograph your items from multiple angles after arrival from the Weidian seller. You then review these photos in your order dashboard and choose to either:
- Accept the item and proceed to shipping
- Reject the item and get a refund or replacement from the seller
This step is completely optional but strongly recommended — especially for shoes, which are the most complex item to evaluate for quality.
How to Request and View QC Photos on KakoBuy
After placing your order through KakoBuy:
- Log into your KakoBuy account and navigate to "My Orders"
- Find the relevant order and click "Request QC"
- The warehouse will photograph the item within 24–48 hours
- You'll receive a notification when photos are ready
- Review each photo carefully in the KakoBuy order detail page
KakoBuy provides 5–10 photos per item on average. For complex items like shoes, they'll photograph the sole, toe box, heel, insole label, and box tag.
What to Look for in Shoe QC Photos
Shoes require the most careful QC evaluation. Here's what to check:
Sole: Check the logo embossing, color accuracy, and sole thickness. Jordan 1 soles should show the classic wing logo clearly.
Stitching: Look for consistent, even stitch spacing. Diagonal or uneven stitching is a red flag for lower-quality batches.
Toe box: The shape should match retail reference photos. Distorted or pinched toe boxes are a common quality issue.
Labels and tags: Check the insole print, size label, and box tag. All should match the specific colorway/size you ordered.
Lace color: Correct lace color is easy to verify and a reliable indicator of overall attention to detail from the factory.
The cnfans QC images on this site come from verified batch orders and can serve as a reference point for what "good" looks like before you make your own purchase.
QC Checks for Apparel and Accessories
For hoodies, t-shirts, and other apparel:
- Tag placement: Should match retail position exactly. A tag sewn in the wrong location often indicates a lower-tier batch.
- Print quality: Logos and graphics should be crisp with no bleed or ghosting. Compare with retail reference images.
- Fabric weight: Hard to verify from photos, but ask the seller for fabric composition details if unsure.
- Seam alignment: Check that seams are straight and patterns match at seam intersections.
For accessories (caps, belts, bags):
- Check logo placement and stitching precision
- Verify hardware color and finish matches retail
- Inspect zipper pulls and closure mechanisms in photos
When to Reject a QC Photo
Reject and request a replacement if you see:
- Obvious color discrepancy from what you ordered
- Damaged packaging (shoe box crushed, item smells of chemicals in the description)
- Significant stitching defects or asymmetrical logo placement
- Wrong size shipped (check label in photos)
- Surface scratches or scuffs on leather goods
Don't reject for:
- Slight lighting differences from reference photos (warehouse lighting is often fluorescent)
- Minor sole edge paint irregularities on shoes priced under ¥200 (expected at that price point)
- Wrinkles in fabric (normal from packing, resolve with steaming)
